SIIM has made the difficult, but necessary and responsible decision, to cancel its in-person 2020 Annual Meeting in Austin, TX. This decision was based on continued travel restrictions issued by SIIM’s member medical institutions and corporate partners, as well as the desire to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. SIIM joins the growing list of industry conferences going virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are saddened by the fact we will not be together in-person at #SIIM20 nor be able to celebrate SIIM’s 40th anniversary with you. That said, with a bias towards action, a propensity for innovation, and a high regard for collegiality, we are excited to digitally offer the same relevant content over the same dates. From the comfort of your home, this year’s learning experience—including time with our industry partners—will be readily accessible on SIIMU, our online learning platform,” James T. Whitfill, M.D., CIIP, SIIM Board Chair and Cheryl Kreider Carey, MBA, CAE, SIIM Executive Director, said in a published statement.
