Salary (inclusive of London allowance): Grade 6B: £31,479 – £33,194 Grade 7 : £35,965 -£43,470 per annum
Location: UCL Division of Medicine, Department of Imaging

Duties and Responsibilities
The post will work within the NCITA trials unit, which is a cross-institutional unit of a national project at UCL. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing statistical support for cancer imaging studies running across seven institutions. There will be a diverse range of studies, including, screening, pilot, feasibility, observational and phase II randomised trials.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
Providing statistical advice on the development of new research proposals, including study design and sample size calculations.
Undertaking of statistical analysis of relevant studies:
developing statistical analysis plans and working practices for the studies; undertaking interim, final and secondary analyses of the studies; discussing and interpreting results with colleagues and collaborators in the study.
Preparing and presenting reports of analyses for Independent Data Monitoring
Committees and study steering committees and assisting in the preparation of conference extracts and papers for submission to peer reviewed journals.
Statistical leadership and support for this post will be provided by Professor Susan Mallet, NCITA collaborator
The post is funded for 1 year in the first instance.
The post holder must have good written and oral communication as well as MSc in medical Statistics or a closely related subject relevant higher degree plus relevant experience.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £31,479 – £33,194 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD.
