NCITA is delighted to host the second lecture in our NCITA educational lecture series ‘On the Shoulders of Giants’, a series of educational talks where experts will bring their perspectives to encourage and challenge wider thinking within the cancer imaging research community.
Our guest speaker is Dr Heather Williams MBE, Consultant Medical Physicist, Group Leader for Nuclear Medicine at The Christie in Manchester, and Director of ScienceGrrl, a grass-roots volunteer collective which is building and strengthening a network of people passionate about passing on their love of STEM to the next generation.
Dr Williams will give an online lecture entitled ‘Is pursuing “a passion for science” a position of privilege?’ on Wednesday 25 May 2022, 14:00–15:00 BST
In this lecture, Dr Williams will discuss the disadvantages, biases and inequalities that exist in the world of science. She will challenge us to think how we can work together to break down these barriers to ensure everyone can pursue their passion and talent for science.
