Duties and Responsibilities
The post will work within the International Alliance for Cancer Detection (ACED). This multi-institutional Alliance works very closely with the National Cancer Imaging Translational Accelerator (NCITA) to achieve common data sharing goals. The post will work within the NCITA Repository Unit which is a cross-institutional unit of the NCITA project at UCL. The successful applicant will be responsible for running the scanner and carrying out phantom work to human reproducibility studies for pulse sequence and hardware development.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include anonymising and upload of studies to the NCITA archive, ACED projects taking priority. The provision of support for the optimisation and development of research scan protocols.
Performing a wide range of MRI procedures to a required standard, prioritising patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality, participating in the extended working day of the service, and ensuring all data inputs are accurately recorded in order to maintain the integrity of data for both patients and service.
This post is supported by a five year CRUK grant, which is reviewed annually, this post is initially for a 12 month period.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have comprehensive experience and up-to-date knowledge of MRI and related MRI safety. S/He must be interested in, and must show a committment to supporting high quality research. In addition, the role requires a willingness to travel to other sites within NCITA for network-related meetings and other activities. Must possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting and needs to be able to anticipate issues and adjust approaches when necessary.
